Grief

Losing a loved one, whether expected or unexpected, is one of the hardest life events that anyone will experience. It is inevitable that everyone will experience some form of loss in their lives – and each and every loss forms a pain that is unique to the person who survived.

How does one appreciate the beautiful nature around them when they feel numb?

How does one continue to breathe when the pain and sorrow is radiating through their body?

A grieving heart may find itself in a downward spiral of denial, anger, guilt, depression or loneliness. Often times, those who are grieving claim they will never be able to love the same way again. Living their life without their loved one can be impossible to visualize and the memories that once brought happiness and warmth to their heart turn into the source of their pain.

Grief Counseling is a sensitive process. Everyone grieves differently when they are suffering the loss of someone they love. Just as the grieving process is unique to each person experiencing it, the counseling process is just as unique and must be tailored. Starting the healing journey is painful, but eventually helps turn confusion into clarity, denial into acceptance and chaos into order. Yes, death can be seen as the end of physical life as we know it, but it does not end the relationship you have with that person. Grief Counseling helps to nurture the past relationship, while creating a “new normal” without the loved one physically here in the healthiest way possible.
